Privacy Policy

Summary

ScanarX is designed to keep your data private. By default, all scans, images, OCR results, parsed fields, and exports are stored locally on your device. We do not require an account to use the app.

What we collect

Local data Receipt images, OCR text, parsed fields, notes, categories, and tags — stored only on the device unless you explicitly export or share.
Optional network data Exchange rate lookups or optional cloud backup only if you enable those features. These are opt-in and clearly described before use.

How data is used

On-device OCR and parsing to extract totals, dates, merchant names, and categories.
On-device AI classification when enabled to improve category and merchant detection.
Export features produce CSV, PDF, or ZIP files that you explicitly create and share.

Sharing and third parties

We do not share your data with third parties by default. If you choose to export or share a file, you control the destination. Optional exchange-rate services or cloud backup are third-party services and will be used only if you enable them; their privacy policies apply.

Retention and deletion

All data is retained on your device until you delete it. Use Settings → Data → Clear All Receipts to permanently remove all stored receipts and OCR results. Exported files are saved to the destination you choose and are not automatically deleted by the app.

Security

We use standard iOS storage and file protections. Images and OCR text are stored in the app container. If you enable cloud backup, data may be stored by the cloud provider under their security practices.

Children

ScanarX is not intended for use by children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, contact support to request deletion.
